PLAN
SUMMARY
For investors with a neutral or slightly positive view
on UK equity markets over the medium term, the three
year FTSE Gilt-Backed Growth Plan 3 offers an
opportunity for attractive pre-defined returns (7% per
year). The Plan may mature early, on each annual
anniversary of the plan start date, subject to certain
conditions. In this case, investors will exit the plan
and realise returns early.
• Several opportunities for returns: At the end of each year, the level of the FTSE 100 Index is recorded. If it is equal to or greater than the FTSE 100 Index level recorded at the start of the plan, the plan terminates and you receive the return of your initial investment plus a pre- defined growth amount, equal to 7% for each year the Plan has been live. • Some protection from a falling market: As long as the FTSE 100 Index has not fallen by 50% or more at maturity, you will receive the return of your initial investment. • Low credit risk: Morgan Stanley have taken two steps to try to minimise the credit risk associated with your investment. Firstly, the Plan invests in Preference Shares where UK Government bonds are used to help secure the returns of the plan. In addition, the issuer of the Preference Shares enters into a derivative contract with Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc to provide the advertised returns. Your exposure to the credit risk of Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc will be minimised by the use of collateral arrangements. For more information on how this works, please see Morgan Stanley's Frequently Asked Questions on page 8 of the brochure. |
